Moonfall Review
Exactly what you'd expect.

Moonfall is the big dumb bloated summer movie that should have come out in 2001. It also should have come out during the summer. It might have had a fighting chance had it come out in the spring or summer.
It’s an entertaining movie about the moon falling towards the Earth. It’s exactly what you’d expect. The moon falls, Earth is overrun with apocalyptic events, and we send people into space to stop the whole thing. If you’re expecting anything else, you’re wasting your time.
The movie drags quite a bit in the first hour, but more than makes up for it in the second half. The beginning goes a bit overboard with the character development, bringing the film to a screeching halt. A fault brought on by bringing importance to a somewhat bloated cast. One or two characters could have been left out of the film. They prove this by allowing characters to die, and everyone pretty much moves on in the movie as if it never happened. It makes the characters almost pointless.
Good special effects, ridiculous action sequences, and this movie’s ability to completely ignore science create a decent viewing experience.
